San Francisco sights found along the waterside are very much fun! I have lived in the Bay Area for over 35 years and I still enjoy doing a lot of these things with my family that I’m planning to let you know about.
These are great activities to keep them active and tire them out if you’ve kids in tow. If you do not have kids in tow I believe you’ll still have fun!
Based on your time and interests you may select and pick from the following listing. It’s in arbitrary order – they are all a large amount of fun!
10 San Francisco Destinations Across the Waterfront in San Francisco Colorado.
1. Pier 39.
Pier 39 is kind of like a huge retail center with expensive outlets within the wonderful Bay. I do certainly not care about prices if I’m on vacation but the outlets are a small expensive to me since i have am a local That said it will not stop you from window watch alcatraz streaming shopping and maybe even splurging a minor.
Let me let you know my favorite places to go there. I could not abandon Pier 39 with no little bit of chocolate from Chocolate Heaven. They have so many options it type of overwhelms you but my favorite will be the chocolates caramel turtles. As I’m walking on the pier I want to eat them. It is possible to give your kids an appreciation for nature and art at the same time by visiting the Rodney Lough Jr. Gallery. He is a nature photographer from my alma mater (BYU) and I just enjoy his work. You are able to go in a small room and they adjust the lighting on his photographs and it really takes my breath out. I enjoy his work and some of the places he’s captured are just beautiful. Some of the locations he’s captured I have never heard of before!
Yet another location that is fun to go is the refrigerator magnet retailer. This is actually the store for you personally If you need a souvenir of San Francisco to put on your fridge. They have literally thousands of refrigerator magnets. Buy a magnet and each time you visit the fridge you can remember just how much fun you’d in San Francisco. They also have some gag games that are fun to look at. My kids like to play with them.
There are also free stage exhibits such as flare eating jugglers and magicians and more at the back of the pier. Browse the Pier 39 San Francisco executing plan. At the very back of the pier make sure to check out the great watch of Alcatraz Prison and take advantage of this great photo opportunity.
2. Look at the USS Pampanito Sub or the USS Jeremiah O’Brien Navy Ship.
The USS Pampanito wrecked six Japanese warships and broken some people during World War II. You are able to spend $9.00 and table it and trip the whole point. The household pass is a great deal – $20 for two adults and up to two kids. My two Boy Scouts have really spent the night on the USS Pampanito filled with guard duty watch at 4 a.m. !!
It is a great chance to educate your kids hands on about history. They can get a feel for how confining and tight living groups are on a submarine. The USS O’Brien is a navy war dispatch that enjoyed in D-Day that you may also trip if your kids prefer boats to submarines that is regional. The USS O’Brien is among functioning heirs and two fully-restored out of 2,710 World War II Liberty boats. It’s the one and only ship that returned 50 years later to commemorate the 50th anniversary of D-Day and enjoyed in Normandy invasions.
The USS O’Brien’s entrance free for children under 6, $3 kids under 14 and is $7 for grownups, $5 for senior/military. There’s more room to go about definitely on the USS O’Brien. You could find the USS Pampanito and USS O’Brien at Pier 45 on Fishermen’s Wharf.
3. Visit Fishermen’s Wharf.
Fishermen’s Wharf is found along the waterside. It was previously home to the local fisherman. You will still see some boats although not nearly the amount of ‘fishing pursuits’ in years gone by. Today it is primarily a huge tourist attraction to help you spend your vacation cash. It is still adored by me though! I could not resist investing in a new crab drink or crab meal on a bitter dough move. I like to eat at Scoma’s. (located at 1 Al Scoma Way simply off Jefferson Street. It is the best and provides the latest and yummiest seafood along the waterside.
I also hold my eye open for ‘The Bushman. He makes his living by frightening the travelers and leaping out of his lightweight plants he retains. he have been probably found by you if you view a group of people gazing at nothing and joking.
4. Allow Your Children Play In The Mud While You Read A Book At Marine Seaside.
Lots of people do not about among my favorite San Francisco activities to do. Maintain strolling west past Fishermen’s Wharf and keep walking a bit more and you’ll run into a tiny sandy beach named Aquatic Bea It is possible to then go down to the seashore and buy meal at Fishermen’s Wharf and have a tasty picnic here. I like to observe the seniors receiving their exercise by leaping in the fifty-six degree San Francisco Bay and read here. (definitely NOT for me!)
5. View Candy Being Produced At Ghirardelli Sq!
After experiencing a picnic at Aquatic Beach the incline can be walked up by you to Ghirardelli Square. It’s a little rise to the top of the hill – your kids will likely protest like mine did – but they can be bribed by you with a piece of free chocolate they are always handing out at Ghirardelli Square right outside their store.
Then look at the back of the ice cream store and catch your breath and get your chocolate and watch chocolate being produced. It simply makes me want to begin drinking it and leap in! It is a good spot to enjoy some amazing snow cream also and take a break.
6. Go out On The San Francisco Public Pier.
I enjoy the ocean and you can definitely get out over it without actually getting on a vessel when you go for a walk on the pier. Go to the conclusion of Beach Street and then head to the Bay and you’ll find the San Francisco Municipal Pier. It’s made of concrete of and extremely stable and safe. It is possible to walk out to the watch alcatraz streaming conclusion and get a good view of Alcatraz Prison and the Golden Gate Bridge. You will fundamentally be surrounded by water on three factors. Your kids also might want to glimpse in the plastic containers of natives crabbing off this pier.
7. Take A Segway Excursion.
If your students are a dozen and older this really is truly fun to do. It’s a little pricey (about $70 for adults) but I believe it was worth the money for me. Provided by the San Francisco Electric Company filled with 45 minutes of education and protection. It is possible to learn understand San Francisco background, how to ride a Segway and take a great tour of the waterside all in about 2-3 hours. This tour was adored by me because the personnel they’ve are very pleasant and useful and the tour was a many different method to see the city.
8. Enjoy Road Performers Along Fishermen’s Wharf.
You never learn who’ll be there when you’re visiting the San Francisco riverside but this really is actually among my favorite San Francisco activities to do. If your kids want to picnic at Aquatic Beach then and do are exhausted you can purchase them meal and ignore their aching feet and plop them in front of some street artists while they chew out. I have observed spruce people, break ballerinas, artists playing music to sell their CD’s and mimes. Your kids will cherish it so do not simply go on by. Take some time to end and enjoy their this regional flavor and skills.
9. Take A Visit Of Alcatraz Prison. This will be site number one on your San Francisco activities to do record.
I do not think anybody should ever abandon San Francisco without visiting Alcatraz. Where else in the United States can you take your kids to a preceding federal penitentiary for a visit? Make sure to plan far in advance by buying your seats on-line. Only Google ‘Alcatraz Tours’ and purchase your tickets on-line, print them out and you’ll save a lot problem and of. That’s when I needed my Alcatraz tour what I did.
The tour under are free and costs an adult kids 12-17 $26, children 5-11 $16 and 4 and includes a brief ferry ride over (and back!) and a prize winning audio tour of the prison. Many audio tours are extremely dull to listen to but this you have kept me engaged over and over again and amused. Children about up and 8 should enjoy it also. If you do not want the audio tour ask a park ranger where you could get a refund
It is possible to take a picture of your kids behind bars and put your kids in a jail cell in solitary confinement. I usually want to let at the very least 2-3 hours to visit The Rock.
10. Enjoy The Sea Lions At Pier 39 San Francisco.
That was previously among my very favorite activities to do San Francisco but recently all the sea lions made a decision to swim away. Last I heard they’d not come back and they believe they may have ended up in Oregon. There were left and over they and 1000 sea lions just up! You might often find at the very least 50 people seeing them play ‘King Of The Hill’ and make an effort to press one another into the San Francisco Bay when they were there. I also like viewing the little children. They’re so sweet.
Preferably when you visit Pier 39 San Francisco where they are based) (that is they’ll have come back!
My favorite San Francisco activities to do are typical located along the waterside. Some say that Pier 39 San Francisco and Fishermen’s Wharf have become touristy but you is known by me and your kids will like to visit at the very least one time. Just like I have over and once again. Patti Royster possesses a site named San Francisco Waterside Destinations. She has spent many hours shooting and discovering every tiny nook and cranny along the wonderful San Francisco Bay.
